چکیده

The “Gen2” specification for UHF passive RFID systems released by EPCglobal has become an intense research interest. A Gen2 tag derives its power from the RF wave emitted by a Gen2 RFID reader and responds its modulated backscatter signals to the reader. Due to the large propagation loss, the accessible range of a Gen2 tag is hence limited. Moreover, the readability of a Gen2 tag is often influenced by the multipath fading problem. In order to mitigate the problems, a multi-carrier UHF passive RFID system utilizing the frequency diverse backscatter ability of a Gen2 tag is proposed in a prior work. In this work, a thorough analysis of the system is given. Especially, the appropriate powers of the transceiver and CWEs are derived to make the system more feasible in practical applications. d0

Tags/s - RFID reader-tag communication throughput using Gen2 Q-algorithm frame adaptation scheme

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) became the most popular and used technology for items identification and tracking. Typical scenario of its application is a pallet of products bearing RFID tag, which passes by portal equipped with RFID antennas. In such scenario it is important to identify all tags as soon as possible. Access control mechanism widely used in RFID system is Dynamic Framed S...

Security and Privacy Concerns About the RFID Layer of EPC Gen2 Networks

RFID systems are composed by tags (also known as electronic labels) storing an identification sequence which can be wirelessly retrieved by an interrogator, and transmitted to the network through middleware and database information systems. In the case of the EPC Gen2 technology, RFID tags are not provided with on-board batteries. They are passively powered through the radio frequency waves of ...

Triggering Hardware Trojans in EPC C1G2 RFID Tags

This paper addresses the Hardware Trojan issues in passive EPC C1G2 RFID Tags. We propose in this paper to study the insertion of malicious circuit in EPC GEN2 RFID tags. The description and the implementation of several different Hardware Trojans are first discussed. Then they are all evaluated in an EPC GEN2 environment using a dedicated FPGA based tag emulator. The evaluation focuses on crit...

Application of Standard EPC/GEN2 UHF RFID Tags as Soil Moisture Sensors

This paper presents a system to estimate soil moisture through the reading of standard Ultra High Frequency (UHF) passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags that can be buried in the soil, allowing wireless moisture measurement without the need of using batteries in the field for long periods. In the proposed system, one or more passive EPC/GEN2 tags acts as sensors buried in the soil. ...

Performance Enhancement of the Rfid Epc Gen2 Protocol by Exploiting Collision Re- Covery

Maximizing the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) performance is one of the main challenges in application domains, such as logistics and supply chain management, where the undesired effect of Tag collisions can significantly degrade the speed of the inventory process. The dominating UHF EPC Class-1 Generation2 (EPC Gen2) protocol only specifies collision avoidance algorithms but makes no pr...
